Highways
San Angelo, with a metro population of 103,000, is located on four major highways which provide links to Interstate 20 and Interstate 10. U.S. 87 runs through San Angelo and a large portion of the highway is four lanes with more construction under consideration. U.S. 277 also connects San Angelo directly with Abilene 90 miles to the north and with Mexico 170 miles to the south. Loop 306 facilitates fast access to any part of the city. |

San Angelo is located between U.S. Interstate Highways 10 and 20. I-10 is 64 miles south of San Angelo and, depending upon the route taken, it is approximately 70 miles to I-20.
